"A 6.79-carat diamond ring by Hemmerle was the top seller at the most recent jewellery sale at Sotheby’s, pushing past its upper estimate to realize EUR 304,800 ($328,890).

The auction house sold the brilliant-cut, D-color, VS2-clarity piece at the March 27 Paris Fine Jewels sale, where it exceeded its EUR 250,000 ($269,760) high price tag, according to the Sotheby’s website. In total, the sale garnered EUR 5.5 million ($5.9 million).

Signed pieces from top design houses, including Cartier, Chaumet, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Boucheron, also performed well, while several diamonds surpassed their top presale estimates."
