Lucapa Diamond Co. Reports “Excellent results” from Drill Samples in Australia

Australian-based Lucapa Diamond Company reports the recovery 1,100 diamonds from a 178 kg drill sample at the Brooking diamond project in Western Australia’s West Kimberley lamproite province. The results included 18 macro-diamonds and 1,082 micro-diamonds. “The latest micro-diamond results from Little Spring Creek are some of the best I have seen in the diamond space,” said Lucapa Managing Director Stephen Wetherall.
“We have also identified another 11 lamproite targets to explore at Brooking which were interpreted from the TDEM survey. These exceptional results at Brooking underscore the prospectivity for diamond deposits in the Kimberley region of WA, which hosts the world-renowned deposits of Argyle and previously Ellendale. We look forward to the next phase of exploration at Brooking with great excitement” he added. The company’s shares rose more than 8% after the announcement.
Encouraging results were also reported from the Mothae diamond mine in Lesotho. Their latest recoveries from the North zone included a 28 ct Special and two light pink diamonds, it followed by other Specials including an 89 ct yellow from the South-East zone, a 25 ct yellow from the Neck zone and a 12 ct white from the North zone. The ongoing bulk sampling program is meant to expand the published +1 million carat JORC resource by testing areas of the Mothae kimberlite pipe.
